Powder Shots

So.
Here are a few shots from the weekend I mentioned.

Looking back I realize I never really explained where/who/what I was doing.
It kind of went like this....

A few weeks ago as I was combing my morning blog/photographer stalking and I noticed that Scott Markewitz was doing a local workshop at the Bird.
For those of you who don't know who this guy is...well google him.
Anything you have looked at related to most HUGE sporting good campaigns/ski magazine covers have been his. This past year he was honored in Power Magazine 40th anniversary edition showcasing photos and stating that he was one of nineteen of Powder's top photographers in the past 40 years.
Needless to say he doesn't suck.

I however do. :)
I have never shot skiing and most of you know that my photography is a slow growing passion.
This is mostly because I stop myself.
You know... when you are more terrified about doing something great that instead of grabbing the bull by the horns you instead run in fear?
Well when I saw this opportunity I didn't want to run.
I knew it would be an honor just to get to see how Scott does things and how he shoots.
I knew I was going to do what ever it took to go.
Money I had or not.
So I filed my taxes wwaaayy early and got the money to go.
Two weeks later I drove up to the Bird nervous as all hell and went with it.

Want to know the crazy thing?
After being there the first day I was no longer nervous.
I realized I might have a little but more of a talent then I knew.
(Yes.. do you know what it takes to shoot "flying" athletes around 10 other people?)
I also realized how much I loved it.
I mean really really loved it.
Yes, learning to ski with 30lbs on your back is an adventure but a freaking fun one!

So there you have it.
It is a really rare thing for me to go blindly into something.
Let alone something that intimidates me so much it almost makes me sick.
However looking back... had I decided not to go?
I would of regretted it.

Think snow!!!

Arms.

How did I ever live without Pandora?
How is it that every single time this song comes on I am captivated?
Love. It.

Yes, this is my Friday night.
Whoo-freaking-whoo.

P Tracker Lite.

One of the things that really gets me about life is periods.
No not as in the dot at the end of sentences but you know, the "girl time of the month" thing.

Last night I got home a little on the earlier side.
I sat on the couch and then *POOF* all I wanted was candy hearts, Ben and Jerry's Milk and Cookies ice cream, Cherry Garcia as well, mashed potatoes, chicken, asparagus, Malibu, and boxed white wine.
Yes, all in the same bowl together if I could get the right consistency.

No I am not pregnant.
Seriously though? How weird is that?
The worst part?
I actually went to the store to make sure I had all of the above mentioned items.

About an hour later and after a stomach that couldn't digest the stale Valentine's candies I was in question with what the heck was going on.
Then... DING.

NOW.
Ladies.
One of the perks of having Dr. BFF in my life is little things like P Tracker Lite.
This is an app that keep you in the know about when your "time of the month" hits.
Yes she saved me and let me in on a little secret.
You see I don't know about you all but knowing when I was suppose to get my period on my own was never a main concern of mine.
However my mood swings and insane cravings should of been.
Viola.
Behold.

As you can see it lets you know all of the major important things of what is going on inside of us and more importantly when to expect "the craziness."
Yes, I just said that.
Why?
Well lets just say this morning I woke up, ate chocolate, put on Breaking Dawn, eyeballed the mashed potatoes, and started to write a man hating blog on where my inconsistent relationship is going.

Oddly I don't think that I would normally do all of those things at once on a daily basis.

So there you are.
If any of you need a little extra help remembering you can thank my Dr. BFF.

Good luck to you....and apparently who ever crosses my path today;)

The Mystery.

I am just dying to share the photos from the weekend.
I am holding out because there is a contest and I don't think it would be fair to get a jump on the competition.
I love this photo of Vanessa.
Kind of mysterious don't you think?

Valentines 2012

Source: ffffound.com via Tove on Pinterest

This year is defiantly way different then last.
I am in such a different place with such different people in my life it is almost hard to believe that last year was only a year ago.
Today, for V-DAY 2012 I have no real plans.
A little skiing.
A little photo editing from the weekend.
Maybe some wine and that is about it.
This past weekend gave me a chance to see how much I need to love myself.
How I need to give more to what I want.

So. Yes.
I love you all.
BBBuuutt this year...
I am my own Valentine and I am happy with that.

xoxo.

P.S. I can't wait for you all to see what came of my weekend.

Excited.

As I sit here to write I am laughing at myself for the simple fact that I really don't have much to say.
The past few days I have have a few really little things happen that have just made my whole week.

Examples?
One. I got to talk to a very old friend.
Like I have known him since we were 15 type of old friend.
(He has snuck into the ol blog here once or twice but I can't find a pic at the moment)
Two. In that conversation I had made the statement, "Oh well if you really want to catch up I am still blogging so you can just go and read and you will be all up to date."
Three. That made me really want to be more proactive in my updates.
I know that there are quite a few of you that always mention you know what is going on because you read this thing and there has been more than once in my life where I have gone back to use my post as references with when something happened!
I think it is really cool!
Outside of the topic of blogging, this past weekend I also got to ski a ton.
It was so nice to feel comfortable on my skis again.
Most of the time was also spent skiing with Jordy which always seems to feel like the most normal thing in my life and it was nice just to feel that way again for a few days.

On a note related to this post.
I am doing something this weekend that makes me so nervous I could puke even thinking about it!
The good kind of nervous!
Hint?
Lastly my wonderful friend Kendra threw me a cd of photos shot this fall.
Some of them I just looooovvveee.
