You Must Know This!

Fair Warning: This blog post is a rant. It might be rude, racist, blunt, and obnoxious but it needs to be said AND you need to be aware of these things!

(You all can thank my 12 hour workday today for this! Uggh! I hate stupid people.)

For all of you who have never worked in the restaurant industry here is a little bit of what you need to know coming from a server herself and the world wide web.

• Never pull your calculator out during dinner. It is tacky.
• Really? Do you need to order 3 drinks at the same time. If you are not really going to drink the water you ordered with that soda, DON'T ORDER IT. Conserve water people!
• If you can't afford to tip your server, you can't afford to eat out! We make $2.13 an hour!
• Don't let your children treat every restaurant like it is McDonald's. If there is not a playland present don't let them act like it, chairs are at tables for a reason!
• Don't wave your empty glass at your server. They know and are trying to get there.
• Believe it or not... Different ethnic backgrounds and cultures tip differently. We do know who you are... and will get treated accordingly.
• Remember your server has ears! We hear your conversations... and we also don't appreciate the conversations that are not meant to be shared with the public.
• If you tip less then %15 percent... you are a jerk.
• Don't keep your server running every single time they come to the table for you. If you need something so particular... STAY HOME.
• Lastly. (for the moment) Don't treat your server like they are less than you economically... most of them make way more than you do... AND work harder than you do too!
  

This is just a taste of the things at the top of my list. I am sure that there will be a few more tips in the future.

Please people. Your parents taught you manners... Please use them!
